Inaugural Global Virtual Torch Run

Join members of law enforcement on 20 September

For four decades, law enforcement, through the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (LETR) has worked to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

On Sunday 20 September, the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) International Executive Council will host the Inaugural Global Virtual Torch Run. And the best news? Registration for this event is FREE!

As the Guardians of the Flame, members of law enforcement volunteer countless hours each year and generate ongoing awareness about the Special Olympics mission. Due to COVID-19 many LETR events have had to be rescheduled or cancelled.

“I joined LETR because I am inspired by Special Olympics athletes. Their sportsmanship, respect for each other and inclusion is something I hope all sporting teams and athletes can learn from. Their smiles and positive perspectives make me proud to be involved in such a great organisation.”
Constable Hayley Schubert – NSW Police

When you run, walk, or bike with LETR on Sunday 20 September or anytime in September, you’ll join other caring members of your community showing support for Special Olympics and people with intellectual disabilities.

You can also show your support anytime in the month of September by taking a photo or video while running or walking and posting it on social media with the hashtag #GlobalTorchRun.

Together, we can make critical strides towards true inclusion in every community.
